Hi! I teach an amazing group of sixth, seventh and eighth grade, gifted and talented students at a high poverty middle school. I am constantly impressed by their hard work and determination to succeed academically and personally.
One of my previous students was recently the valedictorian of her graduating class and will be going to Yale in the fall.
I believe that science should always be taught in a hands-on and exciting way, and my students love it! Wouldn't it be great to have a positive impact on these great minds?
My Project
Our school, just like many others, struggles to provide basic materials such as pencils and paper, but students love to work with brightly colored markers and poster board to show their learning and make flash cards with index cards instead of notebook paper.
These basic items bring student engagement and learning to whole new levels.
Students commit to the task at hand and feel excited to get to work when they have the tools they need to do a high quality job. Art and science go hand in hand. Won't you please help to bring learning and creativity alive? Such a simple donation could have a lifetime of impact!
