Help me give my students access to the vast resources online by funding the projector. Also give them watercolor paint and paper, scissors and glue to create and invent.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Jacobs's classroom raised $445

My Students
I teach Maker Education in Oakland, CA. Our student body is made of students from all nationalities. Over a third of our diverse population qualify for free or reduced school lunch. We are pretty much a microcosm of our city, Oakland, CA, and we benefit from the rich culture that Oakland has to offer.
We are inventors, creators, builders, tinkerers, makers, artists, engineers, and scientists.
Our school is committed to giving students a chance to take charge of their own learning, make decisions and help one another. Our MakerSpace is a perfect place for this kind of collaboration and innovation.
My Project
At our school, we are lucky to have both a Makerspace and an art room. Both the art and the Makerspace teacher see every student in the school (460 total) at least once per week. So providing enough supplies for them is always a priority and a challenge.
Our students treasure their time in the art room and Makerspace, and the supplies and tools you fund will help us expand and improve the programs and the students' experience.
With much of their days being spent on academic instruction, our art and Makerspace programs give children opportunities for choice, expression and creativity.
The projector will allow us to show videos relevant to instruction and projects. The art supplies (watercolors, watercolor paper, markers, glue and scissors) will allow students to experiment and grow creatively. The Lego gadget book will inspire students to use Legos in a new way. The Extraoridaire Design Studio will give them challenges and inspiration for their own inventions. Every time I wish donors could be in the classroom and see the excitement on our students' faces when we bring out new supplies and materials.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
