My Students
My student use a variety of tools to express themselves. Due to their physical disabilities, we use hands-on materials and technology for a variety of projects and daily activities. These supplies and devices give my students a chance to participate in activities despite any physical challenges.
My students are an amazing group of physically challenged students.
The students range in their abilities. Some of the students are in wheelchairs others have trouble walking without a walker. Some students have difficulty with speech and communication. We use a variety of technological devices to help the students express themselves. Each has special needs and we adapt the curriculum to meet their abilities.
My Project
The materials would allow the higher functioning students the ability to print their work. Everyday, these students use iPads to look up vocabulary words and to find pictures that go along with these words. This is done on pages on their ipads. The printer ink would allow them to print their finished work. The students also use computers and iPads to express themselves in their writing assignments and choice time. We would love these students to be able to print their work out and put together a portfolio of their academic accomplishments. The supplies would also be beneficial for the lower functioning students. These students participate cut and paste activities daily to communicate their work. My students really enjoy the hands-on aspect of cutting and pasting. It allows them to participate with some of the other students as they complete activities such as putting numbers in order and sequencing stories. The supplies requested would allow them to continue their work.
The world has put challenges in front of my students.
Hands-on activities and technology through computers and iPads have made a huge difference in their ability to communicate with the world. The supplies requested would help them continue their hard work and reach their full potential.
