Help me give my students the supplies needed for Arrowhead's first Coffee Cart! This cart will be used for students who have communication deficits to deliver coffee and make connections with teachers and staff.
This project will help students by providing organization skills, communication skills, and meaningful human connections.
I will be grouping together students who may have a difficult time communicating, and who are receiving speech and language services to help them better learn how to communicate effectively not only with their peers, but also with teachers.
Most of these students will come from our 5 self-contained Autism classrooms. I will also pair them with buddy students from general education classrooms to assist them which will also provide more inclusion within Arrowhead. This project will help students with so many different skills including communicating, reading, math, and more!
Teachers will have an opportunity to order coffee, hot chocolate, or tea every other week throughout the school year. Teachers will pay for their drinks with cash which will give students an opportunity to count money as well. Students will work with myself (the school counselor), their teachers and paraprofessionals on a rotation schedule to fulfill coffee orders and make deliveries. The money received from drink purchases will go right back into the project by helping us keep stock of items like coffee, creamer, tea, etc. and eventually be able to add small snacks for purchase as well.
