This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am looking to add sets of novels from culturally diverse perspectives to make literature circle choices. With our new social studies standards and a new Holocaust and Genocide Studies course in addition to world history and human rights courses, students will be challenged to engage with literature and historical events in new and meaningful ways.
Literature serves as a powerful and emotional connection to human stories.
By engaging in books studies, my students can work beyond non-fiction, and personalize the stories around us. We've built strong a strong library in our classroom, and I want to expand it to allow for more in-depth analysis with the students.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
