Armed And Dangerous (With Reading Skills)!

My students need literacy center materials to become armed with literacy skills to become independent readers.

My Students

Do you remember your 1st grade reading class? Did you sit in a circle and read the same story over and over again? Well those days are gone. My students need current literacy center activities to equip them with reading skills.

My students are a diverse group of 1st graders who are starving for different materials to use during readers workshop.

I teach in a title 1 school with students that have varying languages spoken at home. It is important that they are in a literacy rich classroom, and are motivated to read independently.

My Project

With individual CD players children will have a chance to have different books available anywhere in the classroom to listen to and read. The stamp and write activities help students with vowel and consonant placements in words. It also helps students match pictures with words.

I would so appreciate any and all help with funding this project.

I feel my students work hard and they deserve up to date materials so they can become armed with correct, and up to date literacy center materials.
