My students are such eager learners who love to engage in hands-on exploration in mathematics. They do best when they have concrete representations of what is being introduced.
With your help, my students will have the opportunity to engage in fun, hands-on strategies to explore area.
They will be able to create their own figures with magnetic blocks and actually see the area of their figures.
As an extension, various figures will be displayed on desks and the floor with the use of painter's tape. The students will calculate the area of these figures and move into finding the perimeter.
