My Students

A typical day in my classroom consists of the first 16 energetic students who are scholars and standouts among the 9th grade class. These students will miss their five minute break because they are eager to come to my class because they want to learn and they feel loved.

The class is very energetic and full of bright high school students who are very inquisitive about STEM related activities and areas.

Their thirst for knowledge is known from the moment they enter the classroom. They learn in different ways and are eager to put their creativity to good use with new hands-on experiences. They are prepared for learning and are very interesting in participating in hands-on activities in order to compete on a level with other students in their age group. They participate, answer questions, and also ask higher-order level thinking questions. My school is situated in the heart of the northern part of the Mississippi Delta. We are currently a high-poverty area.

My Project

I am requesting 1 pack of construction paper, 1 set of markers, 1 ream of copy paper, 2 packs of glue sticks, and 2 packs of safety goggles for their hands-on project. The activities that I have planned for success in the class will help to pave the way for my students, especially those in Technology Student Association, to compete on the state and national level. All students will be involved in the hands-on activities, such as building bridges, building model rockets for rocket competition, and building and programming robots.

I feel that the donations will assist in improving the desire of the students to complete globally.

The students are very interested in becoming global leaders and I feel that with the donations, they will be able to have hands-on projects that are a part of the course requirements and allow them to express their creativity.
