My students need cricket bats, cricket balls, wickets and pails, knocking balls, batting helmets, and transfer paper for team jerseys.

My Students

Over 90% of our student population receives free lunch. Many of my students travel over 90 minutes to have a free breakfast to start their day. The students, though highly economically disadvantaged, are always in school and on-time. They are always eager to learn through reading, demonstrations, and hands-on activities (their favorite).

The students always strive to do their best academically but I also want them to challenge themselves through organized sports.

Many of our students do not participate in organized sports because they may not have the skills or the sport available. We are starting an after-school Cricket team for students interested in learning and playing this world-famous sport.

My Project

The cricket team will need different-sized cricket bats and helmets while playing offense. They will also need to knock in the new bats with the knocking ball to ensure the bats do not break while playing. The students will practice their hand-eye coordination with the training ball and the tennis balls. The students will progress from the tennis balls to play with leather cricket balls once they refine their skills. The wickets and bails will be used for batting and bowling during practice and games.

The donations will help introduce cricket to many of the students and the students will be part of an organized team.

This will help students with their organization, time-management, socio-emotional skills, and their hand-eye coordination.
