Our school believes in connection, collaboration, and conceptual understanding. We use the love of books and literature to do this. We are a family that supports each other and builds each other up both academically and socially. Students are eager to do their best and then some more. I am so lucky to work at a great school with an amazing group of students.
I want to make sure they have all the supports needed to help them grow and remember the skills taught in elementary school.

My Project
Did you know that most content area text books or articles are written two grade levels above in reading? When it comes to engaging our students in the area of non-fiction most books are just straight informational or to hard to understand. This project would supply my students with the opportunity to learn about many non-fiction topics such as sports, bugs, weather, and history ,at their preferred reading level.
A variety of non-fiction books will spark the love of reading and learning in my reluctant readers.
They will be eager to want to know more. This will lead to more reading and the introduction of research.
