Archery, Badminton, Communication: Increasing Safety And Fun In PE

My students need a PA system to hear directions during archery and BSN Roll Out Line Fiber to mark boundaries for new games without damaging the basketball courts.

My Students

Imagine you are 10 to 13 years old and are asked to sit all day and be silent. My legs hurt just thinking about this. My students are good students, but like all middle schoolers, and adults, they need activity. When my students walk into the gym they know it is time to be up and active while learning.

As a class, we are learning the activities that will allow us all to be health active adults.

My students enjoy the big activities such as football, basketball, and sofball. But they also enjoy other less common activities like speedball, badminton, 9 square in the air, and archery. With the help of Donors Choose we have learned many new activities together and look forward to many more!

My Project

One of the students' favorite activities during the year is the archery unit. Students love to connect the real-world activity of shooting a bow to their onscreen and in-print heroine Katniss. While students love this activity, it can be very taxing on the nerves of the teachers. Our large gym is, at times, shared by three classes and it can be difficult to hear the commands designed to ensure safety. By adding the speaker and headset to our PE department supplies, we will increase the safety, help to keep the students engaged, and help to eliminate distractions caused by other classes.

Tape is designed to hold things together; this tape, however, will be used to add safety and fun to the PE department.

Roll out tape is specially designed to sit on top of the floor and create a no-slip system without leaving the adhesion residue. This makes it ideal to use on the school's basketball courts to set up archery lines, badminton courts, pickle ball courts, and many other activities.
