Aquaponics in the Classroom!

My Students

My students are mixed ability and amazing. They come from varying backgrounds but come together as a lively bunch of curious learners.

I have students who have limited resources at home and little access to engaging, educational activities outside of school.

I have students who have had to evacuate their countries due to conflict and are learning English for the first time. I have students with autism, learning disabilities, and attention deficit disorder.

They are my Blue Suede Paws and are our fantastic future.

My Project

My students understand how precious the earth's resources are. They want to make a difference and ensure a future for themselves. They know that our water needs to be clean and that our agriculture needs to be sustainable. This aquaponics system will allow them to see how to do this first hand. They will be able to witness plants and animals living together in a symbiotic environment. They will learn how aquaponics has been used throughout history by the Aztecs and ancient Chinese. They will learn how aquaponics is​ part of the future. They will also witness the living science behind the process.
