My Students

My students are energetic preschoolers who love to play and learn. They are all working on growing their language, social and academic skills in a play based, special education preschool classroom. Many of my students are non- or mostly non-verbal. In my classrooms we work on providing functional communication for all students using spoken words, visuals, AAC and sign language to best fit the student's needs.

My Project

This project will provide the supplies for 7 preschool Early Childhood Special Education classrooms to have a dramatic play flower shop area in their classroom.

With this dramatic play flower shop area, the students can practice language, social, play, math, reading, writing, and fine motor skills in a fun, play based setting.

The children will practice language skills such as asking and answering questions and expanding sentences, sharing and turn taking, following directions, sequencing, counting, colors, vocabulary, writing, and more.

This dramatic play area is something that will be able to be used year after year in the classrooms to provide a quality education through play.
