Help me give my students a plant kingdom set and hydroponics kits for an engaging STEM project!

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Evans's classroom raised $504

My Students

My students are full of energy, excited to learn, and naturally inquisitive. They want to be engaged in the lessons, instead of being passive learners.

With STEAM/STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) and Problem/Project-Based Learning (PBL) students are engaged, and solving both real-life, and fictional problems.

Students want to know what they do will matter, and they are our future problem solvers.

My school has one thousand diverse students coming from different socioeconomic statuses, including many students who are homeless, or living in poverty.

My Project

I feel it is my responsibility to provide my students with the exciting opportunity to learn about the STEM field. I am requesting a plant kingdom and hydroponics kit that will allow me to bring engaging STEM activities and real-world activities in life science. I believe every student has the ability to learn, regardless of disability. By providing hands-on opportunities for students to learn, the students become more engaged in the projects.

This engaging hydroponics setup is sure to interest and excite my students as they observe complete plant development by growing herb plants from seed.

Students develop a unique perspective and get hands-on experience in plant science by journaling, measuring and graphing plant growth, exploring the senses, observing root structures, cloning plants, and learning about water transpiration. The kit allows students to observe the aspects of plant development without the use of soil.

My students are constantly wanting to explore, design, and have "a-ha" moments in my science classroom. The materials will allow my students to make scientific observations, investigations and analyzing their outcomes which are key features of science.
