This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is made up of a very diverse population and as a Title 1 school, many of our children face hardships at their young age. As the literacy lab coordinator, I have been able to see the hunger for learning that all of our children possess, despite their hardships. They always strive to learn with what they have and that's what makes my kids special! Their passion of learning is restless and admirable. For that, they deserve to have all the material they need to empower their minds through their education.
My Project
These iPad's will benefit the students of Mater Academy as an additional tool for literacy assessment, such as Accelerated Reading testing. This will help increase the number of students who participate in the assessments and increase efficiency in literacy.
With this new technology students will be more motivated to embark on their reading journey and will have a more enjoyable experience in test taking.
This will greatly benefit our students, specially because we are a Title 1, low income school. Our students, typically, do not have access to these types of technological tools in their homes. Mater students will be very appreciative of your support.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
