Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, "We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." I believe in my students and in an ever-growing technological society, I must help my students become digitally responsible citizens.
The laptop that I am requesting will help me deliver lessons that are purposeful and engaging to my students in all of the subject areas, especially Science and Math!
In my district, my students are required to use a particular Math platform for a required number of minutes. I am able to monitor their progress on the platform and see areas of strength and areas of needed improvement. With the MacBook, I can research lessons and activities which target these areas based on the data.
We are a Title I School in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Most of the students at my school are English Language Learners and 100% of the students participate in the free breakfast and lunch program.
My kindergartners are very enthusiastic and eager to learn. For most of them, kindergarten is their first school experience, so they are curious and excited. I teach a class of 23 little learners with many different ability levels. My students are happy, eager learners with inquisitive minds about the world around them. They enjoy having books read to them, singing and dancing, learning the alphabet, learning Science concepts and they especially love to develop as readers.
My Kindergarten students are very young and require a great deal of motivation and support. With the situation of our world today, I want to be able to help my students prepare for a future where they believe in themselves, no matter who or where they are. I hope you do too!
