Apple TV to Cut the Wires

Help me give my students a better way to project lessons directly from my iPad to the TV. I normally have to waste time transferring files to my laptop or tethered to my desk by a cable.

My Students

It is my first year teaching 5th grade at W.E. I was teaching 4th grade prior to this. My classroom is WW II era building which was used as a hospital during the war. I have been told our building is the 2nd oldest building in the school system and it is nearly 100 years old. Since it was not designed to be a classroom it lacks some of the conveniences modern classroom have such as sinks. I teach mainly students from military families. This has its uniques challenges and benefits. I like to teach them the value of a good education and work ethics.

My Project

I project and share a lot of things onto a smart board in my class. The problem is that I have to constantly be seated near the smart board when teaching. I also have to constantly swap cables to move from my laptop to my iPad. I would like to move around in my class while teaching but due to the wires I can’t. I invested my personal money in an iPad Pro so I could write on the smart board using the iPad and my body isn’t blocking what I am writing ( I’m a 6’1”, 230lb male) but since I am tethered it makes it hard to walk around and assist students.
