Apple: The Core of Learning

My students need an Apple MacBook Air laptop computer for our classroom.

My Students

I teach 30 third grade students in a gifted and talented classroom setting. My students come from families who are new to the country. Some of my students require special services. My students come from varied backgrounds with different economic needs. My students are very bright and they seek enrichment activities.

They like to move, they love to read, and they love lots of positive attention.

Many of them are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.

My students are creative, clever, and very spontaneous.

My Project

I would like to provide all of my children with a high-tech solution to their continuing enrichment with math, such as using math playground online; literacy, such as listening to read-aloud books together; and the arts, such as viewing online art galleries or watching videos of classical ballet performances.

We will have the MacBook available for in-class research during independent study time.

We will have it ready to play soft music when we are reading or working in groups.

By having this MacBook in the classroom, every student, regardless of their interests and talents will have access to the core of independent or online learning opportunities.

As their teacher, I want to give every child an optimum learning experience. This will help me to do just that.
