Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
S.T.E.M. Education? There's an APP for that! Apps have the power to inspire learning, foster creativity and engage learners.
We are a Title 1 school in the heart of Texas.
My students are inquisitive, energetic and curious. We are a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics magnet middle school. My students want to grow up to be mechanical engineers, environmental engineers, roboticists and the like.
My Project
Part of closing the digital divide includes showing students how they can best use technology for their own benefit. With the Apple TV, students can share information from their computers, laptops or iPads to the entire class on one large screen in real time. The wireless mirroring feature allows students to share information without being tethered to the projector. Through use of the apps on the new iPod and the technology enabled by the Apple TV, my students will be able to analyze and share research, collect and analyze data and collaborate and communicate their results.
Putting this technology in the hands of my students will open up a wealth of knowledge.
Encouraging students to be more literate in science, technology, engineering and mathematics will not only have a positive impact on the students, but will provide a boost to future technological innovations that may impact us all.
