Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a middle school Art and Technology class within my makerspace curriculum. Students love working on iPads and using procreate to draw. My students are very creative and they made stylus pens out of pencils and aluminum foil. They were very happy and excited to draw this way but I think with the right tool to draw on the iPads their creativity could soar to new levels.
I think using the iPad helps students feel less of that fear of perfection that comes with paper pencil drawing.
Digital art can open up many doors for students in terms of careers. The art world is increasingly more digital. I think we are growing more acceptance that digital art is ART. I am amazed everyday by all the things students are able to do on digital drawing apps.
