Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a small school within a comprehensive school. My students are smart, resilient and hard working students. My school is a Title I school and 100% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Since last semester when we went to distance learning, my students have been trying their best to complete all assignments and tasks and are trying their best to learn given their circumstances.

These past months I have realized that distance learning cannot be accomplished unless teachers have the effective technology that also compliments the learning management system that the district uses.

The majority of my students don't have the resources and educational support they need at home and they rely solely on what the school and their teachers provided. Being able to provide the best education possible to all my students is my number one priority but in order for me to be able to do that I need to have multiple screens available to be able to not only teach my lessons but also provide feedback and support for all my students.

My Project

This Apple pencil will be used to write on the iPad pro as I teach on zoom. This will help me make my lessons more engaging while teaching on zoom by allowing me to write on the lessons as I teach. Since I teach math it is difficult to teach math on the computer since I cannot write on the examples I give my students as I explain the lesson. Having this Apple pencil will allow mw to write on the iPad as I teach my lessons and make it easier for students to understand the lesson being taught. Students struggle a lot with math specially when the concepts cannot be explained correctly and step by step. Having this Apple Pencil will allow me to explain all math concepts step by step for my students while teaching on zoom. Once we return to in person teaching this will be used to teach as well, I will use the apple pencil to write on the iPad as I teach and project my lesson on the board for students. This will allow me to walk around the class as I teach.
