Have you ever heard laughter that was so contagious you couldn't help, but join in? That is a typical day in my class. My class is capable of bringing a smile to my face in moments where you wouldn't expect. My goal everyday is to keep those smiles on their faces while on the road to success!
My students are highly energetic and engaged every day in our classroom.
We come from diverse backgrounds of values, culture, economic status, and learning styles. My students make my job easier because they make it less of a job and more of a passion to help them succeed in every possible capacity. All of my students receive free and reduced price lunch. We are a class of 28 students with varying learning styles and paces. Despite their own personal struggles, they come to school everyday eager to be part of the classroom.
My Project
Technology can reach students in ways that are unimaginable. I teach in an inclusion classroom where each child is learning at a different pace and require various means of differentiation in order to succeed. I want to make the most of any remediation or extension activities my students do during center time. These iPads might just be that thing that helps them continue on the road to success during small group instruction. During Guided Reading, I read with a small group of students while the rest of the class is engaged in activities which reinforce and build on skills already taught. Through incorporating technology I will more easily be able to help all of my students learn to their fullest potential. They can access many different apps I can download or continue doing research for a writing project.
Targeting the best way for my students to learn through the iPad would create more opportunities for me, as a teacher, to provide a successful path towards their individual learning.
The iPad would create an opportunity for a new interest in learning and discoveries!
