Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is my first AP Environmental Science Class. We are up for the challenge to make a difference for a more sustainable earth!
We are a starving inner city school that needs your help.
These lovely students are bright eyed, bushy tailed individuals that are thirsty for knowledge. They have a lot of potential, imagination, and drive to make them successful in their own education and many of them will probably be our future scientist of the world.
My Project
We will be out in the field, at local cites, and targeted areas to gather data and analyze them and hopefully internalize some of the problems we see. We will be analyzing water quality from the LA River, Lincoln Park Pond, and other fresh water systems in the area if we go on field trips. We will be doing soil testing and soil analysis at various sites as we go on field trips to local areas as well as our school garden. We will be using the videos to help us reinforce difficult concepts and case studies that deal with our world in order to understand them better. These materials would greatly make AP Environmental Science so much more relevant and applicable course.
By understanding and exploring nature and our environment, we all will gain a deeper appreciation of our mother earth and will be that much more indebted to make a positive impact towards a more sustainable world.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
