Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All students love to play! My students with special needs are no different. However, the kids that I work with require some extra practice to master skills such as perceptual motor activities like balancing. Dynamic balance is an important part of daily living. Specifically, it can help students walk or run which can be generalized to recess, leisure activities, and even extra-curricular sports.

Stomp Rockets are the ultimate dynamic balance activity for students with special needs!

These stomp rockets will be used to create an event where students will be dueling against a friend, stomping for distance, and finally stomping to a partner who will retrieve using a net.

The joy and excitement that my students get out of Stomp Rocket activities is just the beginning of their journey in Adapted Physical Education. I try to make skills that may be difficult fun, so my students don't realize how hard they work!
