This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This mini-grant piggybacks on the same request last year. The study guides with practice tests were invaluable and really helped the kids focus on the most important information and also study for the exam.
AP World History will be the most difficult class that students take during their high school careers.
To that end, students need all the support they can get. I am requesting a class set of AP World History preparatory books to guide and support them as they take the course. The books fully explain the structure of the test, provide a condensed synopsis of the most important content, and provide much-needed practice exams.
Perhaps the two most important skills that students should learn in AP World Modern History are critical thinking and writing skills. These two skill sets are fundamental for success in college and life. A good education arms students with the mechanisms for success that they need to navigate professional worlds.
The support of the DonorsChoose community is the reason that our AP World History scores have risen every year. This past year, thirteen students will receive college credit (or at least a boost in admissions) because of their success on the exam.
