Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In these difficult times, I would like to simplify things for my students because they deserve to receive a quality education even on these unprecedented times. My students come from the South Los Angeles area, a low-income community. Despite the difficulties of living in this dangerous community, my students are dedicated, focused on their goals, and with big dreams of one day be able to change not only their future lives but also change the lives of their families.

Currently, my AP students rely on worksheets and packets that I provided to them prior to remote learning.

During regular school days, they also depend on these packets. I usually make copies of these packets for my students on a daily basis, but now with COVID 19, it has been difficult to provide enough materials for them to continue their education. My students need and deserve to have a textbook at home to continue their learning.

My Project

Unfortunately, my students are always in a disadvantage because of the lack of resources we have at our school. However, if I am able to give my students these textbooks they will benefit greatly, starting with: no more hard-to-read blurry packet copies and no more copyright letters on them that only makes it more difficult to read and understand the text.

These textbooks will make a difference on my students because they will have access to the necessary materials needed to continue with remote learning.

These textbooks are an important tool for my AP students to follow the lectures and to prepare them for their AP exam.

My students will be grateful to have their own textbooks because in order to succeed they need to have all the necessary materials, and this textbook will provide my students the opportunity to be successful in their AP class as well as on the AP exam.
