My Students
Our goal as a class is 100% passing on the AP exam. In order to reach that goal, we must have review materials and technology at the highest levels. The TI calculators and Barron's review books are the best in their respective fields and will help my students become the best statistics students.
My students are in an advanced academic program which focuses on improving the student's skills in all disciplines.
The number one concern for me as a teacher is ensuring that they have the best supplies and technology to work with to help them improve on a daily basis. Our school is a great school with students from all walks of life who are trying to become the future we deserve. In order for them to be successful, they must have the best teachers and the best learning environment possible. These tools will help our students achieve their goals and become better people as a result.
My Project
Our school year goes from August until June with the AP exam annually in May. The curriculum is taught from August until February. The crucial time for the students is in March and April when the cumulative aspect of the course must be reviewed on a daily basis. The students must feel the pressure of taking a cumulative exam so that they can be successful on the day of the test. This requires quality review materials. The Barron's review book is the top book on the market. It discusses in detail the important aspects of the course and explains it in clear high school language. The practice tests in the book are designed exactly like the test questions so that the students get a firm grasp of what to expect that day. The calculators are necessary as well because they are used in the majority of statistical calculations for the course. The students need daily access to them for practice and learning on the techniques involved with continued learning of shortcuts and process.
The improvement in the classroom will be shown in the results.
The students will be better prepared for the exam because of these materials and I'm confident that the scores will increase as a result. This will lead to college credit for the students and a jump start on their college careers. Many students struggle to afford college and earning credits in high school help to get the students into their major faster and save them thousands of dollars. It also gives them confidence.
