I am teaching an AP Psychology course at a high school with a high number of low-income families. These students are working hard in the classroom, and often also working part time jobs after school. That is in addition to their numerous extra curricular activities. These students are busy and need all the help they can get to succeed. The students in this two semester course work hard all year in a fast-paced college level atmosphere. This project will help many of them streamline their study processes so they can effectively use their limited time.
Not only do the students engage in class activities and learning to discover the world of Psychology; but, they also prepare to take the AP exam in the spring.
This permits my students a chance to work to earn college credit before they even graduate high school. This is a great opportunity for many students to discover their passion for Psychology and jump start their dreams of pursuing a career in Psychology or other related fields. With the test prep books, we can help to make these students' dreams a reality as we help them reach their academic goals.
My Project
Preparation for an AP exam is a very daunting task. Many of my students are taking several AP courses in addition to mine. They need every resource possible to help them absorb as much information as possible as they prepare for the Exam.
Barron's AP Psychology Test Prep is one of the leading test prep books in the U.S.
It helps students to quickly highlight and review the major topics covered in the course. It also offers test practice and FRQ (Free Response Question) tips and practice.
Being able to provide this tool for the students will better help students succeed not only in my class, but also to try to pass the AP Exam.
