This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Each of my advanced placement students enters their junior year full of excitement. I intend to meet that excitement with quality experiences that expose them to what the American Dream is all about.
These students are high achieving juniors and seniors that have succeeded at an exemplary level on the Global Regents exam in their sophomore year.
They have been selected to be members of the Advanced Placement American Studies program due to their drive and thirst for knowledge. My students come from different sections of New York City and represent many ethnic and racial groups. The one unifying academic factor is the need for challenging courses for growth as scholars. Also, they all come from families that are struggling financially.
My Project
These study materials will ensure that my students can take the full advantage of Advanced Placement course work. In order to receive college credit for the course they must receive a score of 3 or higher on the exam. These materials will provide enough support so they can save get the score and save tuition money their Freshman year. In order for our study sessions to be the most productive these books are essential. Students will be able to access practice tests and evaluate their progress using an online tool. This will be invaluable as we prepare for the exam.
