My Students
I have the pleasure of teaching mathematics to sophomores and seniors at our high school in Newark, New Jersey. The most exciting part of my job is seeing my students growth throughout the year. They go from "I hate math!" to "This makes so much sense!" No matter what obstacles my students face on a daily, from being teenage parents, to raising siblings, or even being homeless they always come to class excited and eager to learn. However, they are deprived of some of their basic needs.
My students are warriors who never give up.
Despite being at a disadvantage my students always put their best foot forward. My students are compassionate and creative. Given the proper materials, the sky is the limit for the things they could accomplish.
My Project
This year I have the honor of teaching AP Calculus to a group of very dedicated seniors. They are constantly asking for study materials as they prepare for the AP Calculus exam. I want to provide my students with every possible advantage in order to be ready to pass the AP Calculus exam. These textbooks and flashcards will be great study materials for all students, but can be expensive when trying to get a classroom set. Please help me give my students individual AP Calculus practice books that have practice tests embedded in them. Students are currently fighting over the three that I got in my last project, so I am hoping to get some more to give them. :)
