My Project
Anywhere, Anytime: The Green Screen Challenge invites students to unleash their creativity by using green screen technology to transport their audience to any place or time—real or imagined. Working in teams or individually, students will write, film, and edit a short video that takes full advantage of chroma key effects to create a believable and engaging setting. Whether it's a broadcast from ancient Egypt, a sci-fi scene in deep space, or a dramatic moment on a volcano, the goal is to make the impossible look real.
Green screen technology makes a major impact on student learning by removing physical limitations and expanding what’s possible in their storytelling.
It challenges them to plan scenes more carefully, think visually, and learn technical skills like lighting, camera setup, and digital editing. This hands-on experience also builds collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving—all essential for modern media production.
The goals of this project are to strengthen students’ understanding of video production techniques, build confidence in using professional tools, and encourage imaginative thinking. By the end, students will have created a video that demonstrates not just technical skill, but also the ability to use visual effects to enhance a story.
