My Students
Reading is a vital part of a child's life. Books are a gift that can be opened repeatedly.
My first graders are always so eager to learn how to read.
That's why I encourage them to read at school and at home. This Book Drive will provide books for students to start their home library.
I realized that many of my students doesn't have any books at home to read. We are a Title-One school located in Georgia. My students are from a low, socioeconomic background and they need books to have for their home library.
My Project
This Book Drive will touch the lives of so many students in different ways. The students will read more with the availability of books at home. This project will provide books for students to start their home library. Books will be a gift that the students will be able to open over and over again. The parents will read to or listen to their child read. This project will increase family reading time and reading as a hobby.
Support from the community will bring up the students' morale.
The students will become independent readers which will improve their standardized test scores. The books will increase their reading levels and promote lifelong readers. The students will learn the importance of reading and cherish their gift of reading.
