Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from an area of low income, and so, many of them struggle with additional stresses and hardships. My first year here was a wake-up call to the difficulties that many children face.
I work at a Title 1 school where free breakfast is served and many students are on free or reduced price lunch.
My heart is saddened by the circumstances of some of my students and yet, to see them come to school eager to learn and show kindness to those around them makes me glad, every day, to have the privilege of being part of their lives. I want the best for these children. It is my strong desire that every one of them have what they need to get a good education and succeed in life.
My Project
These soccer goals will be well loved by our kids. It is a very popular sport for our students. Many of our students deal with rough circumstances and need a safe, healthy way to get their energy out. With well built soccer goals and equipment they will be able to do just that! And the Pinnie Wraps will help the game move smoothly by all knowing who's on what team.
Soccer is not only a great way for students to exercise, but also a fantastic way for them to learn social skills, teamwork, how to be supportive and kind, and a great many more real life skills.
