Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are constantly agitated and nonconforming to their class setting . I would like to setup an environment for them that allows them to quiet their storms by having fidget toys and calming strips at every desk to calm those who are not able to kinesthetically calm themselves in a classroom environment. Folders and paper will solve some of the worry for those who supplies are a luxury item just like the latest shoes. White boards and noise canceling headphones allow my students that are audio sensitive to participate in group work with minimal discomfort, and the lights serve not only to soothe my students from what can sometimes be harsh classroom lighting but as a reward for to having a productive day !
By providing my students with these anti-anxiety resources you are improving the pacifying students negative behaviors and promoting positive outcomes.
