My Project
My 4th graders are in need of a classroom library that reflects the diversity of our class and gives ample access to high-quality texts. We are at a Title I school and my class has a majority of students from families where English is not the primary language at home. In order for these students to achieve academic excellence in English it is essential that our classroom gives them access to a wide range of texts (novels, non-fiction, etc.). The book packs selected for this project cover a range of areas of interest and relevance to the lives of my students.
Please help upgrade our classroom library!
The image that I selected for this project shows a previous classroom library that I put together in a wealthy, well-funded school. Let's make sure all students, regardless of race or economic status, have access to literacy!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
