My Project

I am the Art Teacher at an urban PreK-8 school on the eastside of Cleveland, Ohio. My students and I put on an annual art show to celebrate and showcase the incredible artwork that they create during the year. It is a great experience to see them beam with pride when they see their artwork on display for the community to celebrate!

I want to make this year's art show successful by providing a variety of art mediums so my students can create art that can be displayed in real picture frames, just like at galleries!

Some of the supplies that I am requesting will be used for art projects for the whole school. Other supplies will be used to display over 300 pieces of artwork for the community to admire.

My students amaze me every day with their ability to overcome challenges. They experience a lot outside of school, yet they show up and express these challenges through their art.

The art show show provides a unique experience for students to demonstrate their learning through the arts. It also gives them a chance to be celebrated in school, especially those who may struggle to accelerate in academics. Art gives them that chance to SHINE and experience PRIDE within school.
