Help me give my students materials to learn and interact with as we build our annotation skills in preparation for middle school and to make us better readers!
We are learning to annotate as we read. We are learning to engage with text, identify important information, make connections and support self-assessment.
Annotating can keep you engaged and interacting with the text by reading.
It can also slow down our student's reading pace, which can help retention and comprehension. It will help our students isolate ideas and organize important material, highlight key concepts, and keep track of key ideas and questions. These books and annotations will prepare students for writing prompts and discussions. With this resource our students' thoughts and questions that lead to deeper understanding, and encourage them to make inferences and draw conclusions about the text. Students ground their self-assessments in evidence, which can help them learn how to better evaluate themselves.
