My Project

Literacy is not just about reading. It is about understanding, connecting, and thinking deeply. But true comprehension does not happen by accident. It happens when students are actively engaged, thinking critically, and interacting with the text in real time. That is where this project comes in.

With the support of an iPad, Apple Pencil, adapters, a voice amplifier, and a digital clock, I will be able to model close reading strategies and annotate texts live during our lessons.

My students will not just hear how to analyze a story or an article. They will see it happen in front of them. They will watch thinking unfold on the screen, and they will learn to do the same.

As someone with dyslexia and ADHD, I know firsthand how overwhelming reading can be without the right support. I remember what it felt like to fall behind simply because my brain needed more structure and clarity. Annotations gave me that structure. They helped me focus, break down information, and make sense of complex ideas. I want to give that same clarity to my students.

Comprehension is the foundation of growth. It leads to stronger test scores, deeper learning, and more confident thinkers. With these tools, I will be able to reach every student more effectively. Whether they struggle with focus, processing, or simply need a different way of engaging with the material, this technology will support them in meaningful ways.

This project is about building thinkers. It is about turning readers into analyzers and helping students build skills that will follow them for life.
