Anime Club Resources

Help me give my students some merchandice for their anime club. Extracurricular activities is important in these times, to keep students motivated and help the freshmen become more connected to their new school.

My Students

My students are a mix of freshmen, sophmore, juniors, and seniors in high school. Nearly all my students are from low-income households, predominantly African American and Hispanic Americans. In New Haven, high school is has been remotely taught all year so far. In order to engage in some more social and extracurricular activities at our school, a small group of students have decided to start up an Anime Club.

As a teacher during these unprecidented times, I can see how much my students are starved for normal and fun soical interactions; hopefully this club will be able to give them just that.

My students are hard workers and perserver through difficult times. We need some resouces to help make the anime club more fun and interactive, as well as some gifts to reward them for their good grades and thoughful activites and roles.

My Project

Clubs and extracurricular activities are very important to the school community. Many of the student in my Anime Club are students who are in my math classes. I will try and incorporate math and anime into this club to spike students’ interest as well as get a bit of math tutoring in.

My classroom will have the aesthetic feel of an anime club to draw the students in, posters/tapestries, as well as mathematical resources, blending the best of two worlds.

When students come for after school tutoring, they will receive an anime club souvenir/gift, such as t-shirts, decorated masks, fans, posters, etc. Even the students who remain at home will be able to participate. Their souvenirs will just be mailed to them.

The resources and gifts that students were able to select from this project will help motivate them to finish up this school year strong.
