Animal Kingdom Specimens for Ecology

My Students

My students come from a variety of cultures and have different levels of science skills. There are over twenty languages spoken at my school, but science can become a common language for all my scientists-in-training. The school is part of the International Baccalaureate program which seeks to integrate multiple disciplines in order to provide a holistic learning environment for all students.

My monthly budget to plan science activities, labs, and projects is fifty cents per student.

This fact makes it difficult to plan satisfying, hands-on activities that engage all students and foster their love for learning. Any help received through this website would ensure students are exposed to multiple, true learning opportunities that introduce students to STEAM: science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.

My Project

There is no doubt students love to participate in hand-on science experiences. The materials requested for this project include assorted specimens in Riker mounts and acrylic blocks to help my students deepen their thinking skills. The use of animal specimens is of most importance for the students to be able to distinguish between each animal and understand the connections between different species in ecosystems.

Your generosity will both help my students interact with intriguing specimens and facilitate the process of falling in love with science.

Thank you for your willingness to help my learners make the connections between what they learn in the classroom from textbooks and to the specimens they will be comparing in the classroom. They will also use the new Riker mount boxes to create their own specimen boxes for future students.
