Help me give my students construction paper, block printing ink and other printmaking supplies to explore a new art making process while learning about the iconic pop artist, Andy Warhol.

My Project

The Andy Warhol Inspired Printmaking Project will allow my art students to explore the world of relief printmaking while learning about the iconic pop artist. Printmaking is a unique art process that isn't always taught in high school art classrooms due to the specific supplies and clean up procedures. The students will create fun, colorful prints that reflect Andy Warhol's pop art style engaging the students in the printmaking process.

Students will learn how to create a design using different shading techniques and how to carve a linoleum plate using the appropriate carving tools.

Students will also experiment with printing various colored prints to mimic Andy Warhol's colorful pop art style while learning about the repetition of the printing process. Funding this project will allow me to purchase new consumable materials for my Art 1 students.
