My Project
My 10th-grade students are regular level, and many have fallen off as readers (for a multitude of reasons) by the time they arrive in my classroom. They first look at my books with concern, then begin slowly to enjoy having silent reading time with a book they choose- for pleasure. More than half of my students are low-income and have no books at home. I hope to hook them and reel them back in so they can experience the joy of being a lifelong reader and understand how that contributes to their future success.
