This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from many different parts of the world. We have at least seven different countries and languages represented in my class. Unfortunately, my students come from less affluent homes. Lots of my kids are refugees who come from war-torn countries. My students are eager to learn, and they work hard every day to do their best.
Most of my students speak very little English and have never been to school before.
I also have my English-speaking students who sadly share the same socioeconomic background. We are located in a very low-income part of San Diego.
My Project
School is so hard right now with all these crazy pandemic restrictions for students. I would like to provide them with incentives to try their best in the classroom. Sometimes a simple little prize motivates my students to work hard.
Prizes are great motivators to get kids to focus on their learning.
Students have a lot of anxiety due to the current health conditions in the country and a fidget toy will help them alleviate some of that anxiety. I want to reward the students for coming to school everyday even with all these restrictions in an abnormal school year.
