Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school in a low socioeconomic neighborhood, and 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many parents work two jobs and are barely able to support the family.

I have a bunch of awesome students who can't wait to come to school every day!

All my students are English language learners with no resources available at home. They often come to school without the supplies needed to be successful. Our school is a safe place for many of my students, where learning is a priority.

My Project

We have been learning remotely for almost a year. Students' social and emotional well-being have been tested to their limits. I can see the sadness and loneliness in my students. They have difficulty staying focused and paying attention during Zoom. To motivate them, I will reward students for their effort, behavior and work completed. Each student will get a reward card with ten punch slots. As students complete a task or show participation, I will hole punch one slot. Once students received all ten slot they will be rewarded with stickers, slap bracelets, or something in our treasure box. I will use the stamps to send their rewards. I hope this will motivate my students to try their best.
