Ancient Wax Art From Around The Globe

My students need wax and wax tools to inspire them to create works of art in ancient techniques from around the globe.

My Students

My students are amoung the best and brightest, investing in their enducation is investing in the future. My students will be your future professionals and colleagues. Our goal is to send the most well-rounded educated students into the workforce or advanced education. Many of our students are from families with low socioeconomic status with goals to pursue some sort of post-secondary education and advanced studies. We need creative problem solvers and thinkers to to solve the problems of the future.

My Project

Art is a way to teach students about cultures and history. Wax art has been used across cultures throughout history. These supplies will help bring this unit about the use of wax in art to life. Students will have a chance to develop their own artwork through batik and encaustic wax techniques. The purchase of batik wax and batik funnel pens will allow students to create their designs before applying the color through the use of dye. The wax and the dye are an essential elements in teaching student about the art of batik. Student will also learn about encaustic or wax art through the use of the encaustic wax paints. The paints will be applied to a heat resistant surface in layers similar to painting. Both techniques will be taught with a history component, cultural context and techniques with the goal of expanding their knowledge and skill.

Art is a way to inspire creativity and relax.

Art can become a lifelong hobby or a lucrative career in areas of advertising, graphic design, teaching, animation or fine artist. The possibilities are endless and employers are looking for creative thinkers to solve the problems of the future.
