Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach many different levels of English to multilingual students learning a second, or even third language. I create drawings on my whiteboard to explain the different grammatical concepts that I'm teaching, and my students would benefit if I was able to save these drawings and reuse them. Along with that, I also teach different concepts in different periods depending on where my students are in their language acquisition. I have limited whiteboard and wall space to display visual reminders of what students have learned.
With this anchor chart system, I will be able to use my whiteboard to teach a new concept and keep an anchor chart up of the previously taught concept, and I will be able to easily flip to the visuals students need in my different periods.
Students will have a visual reminder of what they previously learned while also being able to focus on the current lesson. Some of the anchor charts I would use on a regular basis are on parts of speech, verb conjugation and academic language.
