Anatomically Correct Torso Model

My students need an anatomically correct human torso model to provide a hands-on example of the body and its parts.

My Students

What does the inside of our body look like? My students would like to know. They thrive when we are doing hands-on learning. Our former anatomically correct model "died" a few years ago and has not been replaced since.

My students live in a very rural part of Arkansas.

The school they attend is a small school and we face many economic challenges. The kids are excellent! My students come from very diverse backgrounds but, they all manage to get along and accept one another.

My Project

I am requesting an anatomically correct torso model for my classroom. If my students had access to this model they would be able to touch and feel the parts of the body and organ systems because it has removable parts. This would be extremely beneficial not only to my 7th grade students who have to learn about organs and organ systems but I also teach 8th grade science, Biology and Anatomy and Physiology, I would also be able to use this model in those classes as well. The model would also be available to students for years to come!

I believe by donating the torso model my students would benefit greatly.

They would have hands-on instruction which has proven to be extremely successful. I might just inspire a student to become a doctor or nurse after they learn about the body and its systems. My school district is very small and we lack critical funding that other larger districts have access to, I am hoping that with this grant my science classroom can compete with larger districts. Thank you
