An Outdoor Space for Happy Little Hands and Minds

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The littlest learners in our growing school community are in need of outdoor learning equipment. With no available green space on our little transitional kindergarten (TK) site, my teacher teammate and I are looking for ways to work around barriers and create a wonderful playground for our group of eager-to-learn little people.

A work in progress is our mission to create a happy little space which fosters to happy little hands, happy little legs, and happy little minds.

All the materials requested will help us to build this space. With the new and growing TK program at our school, we currently have limited outdoor equipment and activities for the two classes of 48 four and five year olds to engage in.

The sandbox and water table will help to build fine motor development, an important part of early childhood learning. The sandbox will inspire creativity and encourage social emotional development between students who work together to create. The planter boxes will provide our space with gardening experience and some greenery. With your help, we will be much closer to making our outdoor learning space wishes a reality. You will also be investing in some of the littlest learners in our public schools and providing them with a great beginning to their life-long learning adventure. Thank you for your support!
