This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I'm a first-year teacher in a spartan classroom with flu season quickly approaching. Without disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, tissues, or even paper towels my kids and I are at risk. As a history teacher, I love having my kids experience history but I do not want them to live through the Spanish flu.
Beyond my children's physical health, the nonexistent decoration in the room is not great for their mental health.
Most of my students are newcomers to the country and I'd like to add the world flags to the room for personal representation and give them a small connection to their personal history. Finally, the lights would do wonders to brighten and warm the classroom.
