An Organized Teacher is a More Effective Teacher

My students need various storage tools so that we can continue guided math, guided reading, and other independent activities. We learn independently when we are organized.

My Students

One size does NOT fit all! I believe that one size learning does not benefit ALL students. Students' needs are as unique as their finger prints. They have their own learning, emotional, and physical needs that need to be met so that learning can be optimized.

I teach an amazing group of second graders that are smart, creative, spunky, well mannered, and eager to learn.

When you enter our room you sometimes think that you are on the set of Glee. My students love to sing songs for all reasons. Instead of working silently, one student will begin to sing softly and the others will chime in, while they continue to work. We attend a small public school located in a small farming town in Illinois. Our free and reduced lunch program is almost 30% of the student population.

My Project

Since each child has individualized educational needs, I make each lesson plan unique to each child. I teach primarily in small flexible groups. While I am working with my small group of students, the others are working on individualized purposeful activities. In order for my students to be successful with each of these activities we spend a lot of time at the beginning of the year on expectations and routine. In addition, I need to make sure that all items are easily accessible and organized. This is where your help comes in! I am requesting various organizational tools to help facilitate these small groups and independent activities. These tools include storage baskets, binders, and shopping totes. I want nothing more than for my students to be successful and this is one of the critical pieces.

Your donation will allow me to help individualize my instruction to maximize my students' learning potential.

They will also learn to work independently, which is a very important life skill. For many of my students school is the ONLY place where learning is encouraged. I need to do whatever I can to create an environment where learning is constantly happening and where I can meet all of my students needs. Your support for this project will greatly help this endeavor!
